Chicago, IL – February 20, 2018

Jackson Park Golf Association (JPGA), a coalition representing over 500 longtime Jackson Park and South Shore golfers, reviewed the updated plans from Tiger Woods’ TGR Design at their February board meeting.  Subsequently, they declared, “JPGA continues to support the restoration of the century-old South Side golf courses because now is the time to modernize the courses and revitalize our community aesthetically and economically.”

JPGA members thanked Tiger Woods’ TGR Design team for “listening to and positively acting upon our suggestions.”  Specifically, they complimented the ability for golfers to return to the clubhouse after nine holes.  Further referencing the proposed relocation of a new clubhouse along Jeffery Boulevard, JPGA described the location “merges the interests of golfer and non-golfer to produce a functional space for fellowship.”

Ron Norris, President of the Jackson Park Golf Association, elaborated, “Tiger Woods and his design team have listened to our ideas to create our desired golf experience on the South Side. The Park District’s commitment to free greens fees for junior golfers and rates below $50 for Chicago residents reflects our organization’s tenets that youth programs, affordability and local resident access must be core components of this project.”
